How We Raise Our HogsFrom piglet to mature hog, it all happens right here on the farm. Piglets arrive just after weaning, about 8 weeks old. We have raised a variety of different breeds, mostly based on availability.
They are raised on all natural feed without added growth hormones or antibiotics. The feed is non-GMO (no genetic modification), and we purchase it directly from a family-operated grain mill in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. We raise them in wooded rotational paddocks, and move them once a week to ensure a healthy, fresh environment. We allow them to roam, forage, and root and express their innate characteristics - and what characters they are! These management practices allow us to raise them without any medications or antibiotics. When you combine their respectful care, healthy environment, and all-natural feed you get exceptionally delicious, flavorful pork that we think you will find outstanding.
